"Using ICT to foster civic skills and democratic attitudes of students"
Bucharest
2005, 6th of December
Interactive and collaborative education software holds a great potential for stimulating student imagination, promoting brainstorming and sharing of insights, eliminating prejudices, promoting team-oriented approach, building consensus, developing thinking, listening and debating skills, and actively constructing knowledge. ICT mediated teaching of civics and e-governance projects targeting young people in schools are effective in engaging students with democratic systems, preparing them for positive and active roles as citizens. On-line communities of school age youngsters can give government an effective medium for public consultation and constructive involvement of students in the formulation of policies for education.
The 3rd eLiT Education Conference welcomes experts and professionals working in education and connected fields. The conference is open to projects and initiatives aiming at developing interactive and collaborative on-line learning environments which enhance participation of students as responsible members of their communities.
